Bombardier Aerospace has entered into an agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) to acquire the assets of MHI Canada Aerospace (MHICA) located in Mississauga, Ontario, with the transaction expected to close later in 2026. The acquisition will add 750 employees and bring component work for Bombardier’s business jet programmes in-house.
MHICA currently supplies the main wings and centre fuselage structures for the Global 5500 and Global 6500, as well as the main wing for the Challenger 3500. The MHICA operation includes a 270,000-square-foot manufacturing facility and a 70,000-square-foot logistics centre.
MHI will remain committed to the commercial aerospace and defence sectors following the transaction.
