Asturian cider culture has been recognised by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024. The traditional cider pouring ritual known as escanciar has been as much a part of the experience as the drink itself. Along the Asturias eastern coastline, dinosaur footprints more than 150m years old have been found. Some of the footprints at La Griega Beach have been among the largest known in the world.

Asturias has had around 400km of coastline as well as the Picos de Europa National Park giving the region a mix of beaches, mountains, fishing villages and outdoor adventures. The region has been known for its natural beauty, rich culture and warm hospitality.
