Cathay Pacific is to apply roughly double fuel surcharges on most routes from Wednesday next 18 March 2026.
Fuel costs in March double the average of the previous two months due to the Middle East war. The carrier has add flights to London to meet rising demand for travel to Europe as travellers seek alternatives to Middle East hub routes.
Cathay suspended all flights to Dubai and Riyadh in March. Other carriers such as Hong Kong Airlines raised fuel surcharges from 12 March 2026.
Ronald Lam shared “In March, like ever since the Middle East episode began, the costs of our fuel already doubled”
