Donegal County Council and local tourism groups have expressed pride after hosting an EU CivCom informal meeting from 23 to 25 September as part of Ireland’s EU Presidency. Twenty-seven delegates arrived via Donegal Airport and experienced Gaeltacht culture and hospitality. Officials stated the visit showcased the airport as a gateway to the northwest and demonstrated the region’s ability to handle major international events. Traditional music and local tourism providers played a central role in the welcome.
