Dublin City Council has revealed details of City Fleadh 2026 which will transform the city centre into a vibrant celebration of traditional Irish music for the 2026 Dublin City Fleadh. The free, unticketed festival is taking over five city hubs on Saturday 22 August and Sunday 23 August, from 12pm to 6pm daily. Building on the momentum of the 2025 gathering, this year’s programme features an expanded roster of performers across Smithfield Square, Meeting House Square, Wolfe Tone Square, Parliament Street and Capel Street.
The main stage at Smithfield Square will hoststraditional powerhouses Sharon Shannon Big Band, Altan and Dervish on Saturday, with The Scratch, Madra Salach and Kíla performing on Sunday. Meeting House Square provides an intimate acoustic setting for special collaborations featuring folk icon Andy Irvine and Quilty alongside the Máirtín O’Connor Trio. Wolfe Tone Square presents recitals from Na Píobairí Uilleann Piping with Wynton Moore, Aoife Fadian and Síofra Ní Mhóráin, plus a Harp Ireland Recital featuring the Martin Family Harp Trio and dynamic sets from An Chéad Ghlúin Eile, Caitlín Nic Gabhann and Ciarán Ó Maonaigh.
Capel Street will host acoustic sessions from exceptional trad musicians while Parliament Street presents high octane sets from Faró and performances from the Fingal Mummers. Arts and crafts activities and family storytelling complement the musical offerings. The Lord Mayor Daryl Barron confirmed the festival represents a chance to celebrate traditional Irish music following the tragic death of Glen Hansard.
