Galway County Council has planned a networking event aimed at boosting tourism in East Galway at the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry on 28 October 2026. The Uniquely East Galway Network Event takes place from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Organisers designed the event as part of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands to build stronger links between local businesses, communities and agencies.

The council developed a destination plan with Fáilte Ireland and EU Just Transition Fund support for visitor experiences and accommodation. The event connects local businesses, tourism operators and community groups. The region forms part of Ireland’s Hidden Heartlands, a slow-travel tourism region centred around the River Shannon.

The Raheen Woods Hotel sits a 15-minute walk from Athenry Train Station with regular services connecting to Galway City Centre in 20 minutes. The venue is located just off the M6 motorway with on-site Tesla Superchargers for electric vehicles. Registration is free via the East Galway Tourism Registration Page.
