Explore Fingal launches destination tourism brand in Malahide

Fingal County Council has launched the Explore Fingal destination tourism brand on February 23 2026 at a gala event in the Grand Hotel Malahide. 

The brand aligns with the Fingal Tourism Strategy 2024-2029 and positioned the county under Visit Dublin while coordinating with Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Ireland. Explore Fingal promotescultural coastal and culinary experiences with a new website and social media channels. Attractions included Malahide Castle and Gardens, Newbridge House and Farm, and others such as Howth Castle and Skerries Mills.

The launch featured Mayor Cllr Tom O’Leary and keynote speaker Catherine Flanagan from the Association of Visitor Experiences and Attractions.

  • Fingal offers eighty-eight kilometres of coastline alongside countryside and villages.
  • Malahide Castle provideds guided tours of eight hundred years of history with gardens and a fairy trail.
  • Newbridge House and Farm preserves eighteenth-century features including a working farm and museum.
  • The Seamus Ennis Arts Centre in Naul hosts concerts exhibitions theatre and festivals.
  • Outdoor options include beaches kayaking walking trails over two thousand hectares of parks and twenty-four golf courses.

Tom O’Leary shared “The launch of Explore Fingal, the new destination tourism brand, is a significant step in consolidating and highlighting the tourism offering within Fingal. It represents a real opportunity for our communities and businesses to benefit from a heightened profile. We have a wealth of natural assets in tourism and an unparalleled location within easy reach of Dublin city.”

AnnMarie Farrelly shared “Explore Fingal showcases Fingal as a proactive, forward-looking local authority delivering on its commitments. We recognise the significance of the tourism and hospitality sector within the county and launching Explore Fingal is a key milestone in the implementation of the Fingal Tourism Strategy (2024-2029). We see ongoing opportunities for investment and growth and are confident that the sector will expand and thrive”.
