The Fidelity Hotel has opened its doors in the historic Gwynne Building at the corner of Sixth and Main Streets in downtown Cincinnati

The 165-room luxury lifestyle property, which opened on 28 July 2026, is the city’s only independently owned hotel. The 13-story Beaux-Arts landmark was originally built in 1913 and commissioned by Cincinnati native Alice Claypoole Gwynne Vanderbilt, wife of Cornelius Vanderbilt II. The building famously served as the world headquarters for Procter & Gamble from 1935 to 1956. An extensive $81 million redevelopment has transformed the vacant office building, with designers uncovering original marble, hidden domes and cast-iron metalwork featuring “G” and “V” emblems to honour the Vanderbilt family.

The 5-star property has combined residential-style comfort with modern Parisian fashion influences across 165 guest rooms, including 17 luxury suites, two bunkrooms and the grand Alice Presidential Suite. Guest rooms have offered floor-to-ceiling windows, pillowtop beds with Egyptian cotton sheets and premium minibars. The fitness centre has been equipped with Peloton bikes, CLMBR machines and FORME Life interactive mirrors operating 24 hours. The property has provided over 7,770 square feet of flexible gathering space, headlined by the 2,575-square-foot Vanderbilt Ballroom.

Local Chef Brad Bernstein has led two culinary concepts at the property. Gwynne has operated as a full-service American regional restaurant, lobby bar and lounge inspired by the culture of the Ohio River Valley. Cora’s All Day Café has functioned as a neighbourhood-style market space offering gourmet pastries, coffee and grab-and-go lunch, transitioning to evening cocktails and local craft beers. The hotel has been operated by hospitality company New Waterloo, whose sister property, the Fidelity Hotel in Cleveland, previously achieved a Michelin Key distinction.
