The 10th annual Ireland Golf Convention, hosted by Fáilte Ireland in partnership with TourismNI and the International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO), recently concluded at the five-star Dromoland Castle Golf Resort in County Clare. The event servesd as a business-to-business platform to secure high-value international golf tourism bookings.

  • The single major point of discussion and planning was the upcoming 2027 Ryder Cup to be held at Adare Manor. The convention served as a primary staging ground for Irish tourism businesses to position themselves for the massive influx of international golf fans expected in the region.
  • Host venue Dromoland Castle announced ambitious plans for a €55 million master-plan redevelopment. Scheduled to begin in November 2026, the project will upgrade the castle, the golf club facilities, and add new stable accommodations to maximize its luxury appeal.
  • The convention facilitated over 1,800 face-to-one business meetings. Approximately 80 premier island-of-Ireland golf tourism providers and suppliers negotiated directly with 60 pre-qualified international golf tour operators flying in from 16 different countries to finalize 2027 itineraries.
  • Tourism boards used the platform to highlight new developments to global buyers, such as the highly anticipated Curracloe Links development in County Wexford, aiming to diversify Ireland’s golf portfolio beyond its established premier courses.
