Kilkenny is inviting visitors to experience its craft tradition first-hand through Kilkenny Craft Meet & Make, a curated collection of bookable workshops, studio visits and maker-led experiences across the city and county. Recognised as a World Crafts Council City and Region of Craft, Kilkenny has long been associated with creativity, design and skilled making. The programme gives visitors a more personal way to explore that heritage by spending time with local craftspeople, learning about their materials and techniques and discovering the stories behind their work.
Experiences span pottery, glass, jewellery, textiles, stone, candles, skincare and more. Visitors can take part in hands-on workshops, see skilled makers at work and gain access to working studios and creative spaces that are normally experienced only through the finished pieces they produce. There are 19 experiences across an array of craft disciplines, as well as three tour providers who offer specialised craft tours that bring visitors on a journey through a number of workshops.
