- Notification follows death of Klaus-Michael Kühne on 23 August 2026

- Thomas Stähelin identified at top of reporting chain
Deutsche Lufthansa AG has issued a regulatory holdings update recording that Kühne Aviation GmbH holds an indirect stake of just over 20pc in the German flag carrier. The stake is equivalent to 240.4m indirect voting rights. The notification follows the execution of the will of long-time Lufthansa Group shareholder Klaus-Michael Kühne, who died on 23 August 2026.
On 31 August 2026, FROMER Services GmbH appointed executor of the estate, leading to a new attribution of voting rights under German law. The disclosure identifies Thomas Stähelin, a Swiss lawyer and longstanding associate of Kühne, as the person at the top of the relevant reporting chain above FROMER Services, Kühne Holding and Kühne Aviation.
The regulatory filing formalises the indirect voting rights held by Kühne Aviation. Lufthansa Group continues to operate its global airline network. The stake represents a substantial shareholding in the German carrier.
