Ireland tourism partners have hosted a roundtable event in Chicago with Minister Peter Burke.

The event took place yesterday and brought together key US travel trade, airline and media partners. Tourism representatives promoted the island of Ireland as a year round destination for American visitors. There will be 7pc more seats on flights from the US to Ireland this summer compared with last summer.

Minister Peter Burke attended the discussions to support increased American tourism. The additional capacity creates more opportunities for US travellers to visit the island. Partners expressed gratitude for the ministerial engagement at the Chicago gathering.
