Miami and Dallas have been among US airports adding exclusive private terminals for commercial passengers. These facilities have offered premium services such as private suites massages and direct tarmac transfers by luxury car. Airports have seen the model as a way to generate extra revenue through leases and partnerships.
Luxury private terminals for commercial airline passengers expanded rapidly across major US airports, allowing high-paying travellers to bypass standard crowds, long walks and public security lines. The private terminal operator PS operated exclusive facilities at Los Angeles (LAX), Atlanta (ATL), Dallas (DFW) and newly opened in Miami (MIA). San Francisco International Airport (SFO) sought developer bids to construct a dedicated 75,000-square-foot private terminal for commercial fliers, aiming for a late 2028 opening.
Amenities included private TSA screening, custom customs processing, spa treatments, private suites or shared salons and chef-prepared meals. A private chauffeur drives guests in a BMW directly from the private lounge across the tarmac to their commercial flight. Annual memberships generally start near $5,000, with per-trip use fees starting upwards of $1,295 per visit. PS Miami International Airport opened in September 2026 at Miami International Airport.

PS Los Angeles International Airport offers fully private suites, on-site customs clearance for international arrivals and a private valet parking option for members. Intended to bypass standard TSA queues for commercial flights via tarmac car transfers, the facility was slated to open by late 2028. For instance, Clay Lacy Aviation finalised a $100-million carbon-neutral FBO at John Wayne International Airport, while NetJets remodelled its primary facility at Teterboro Airport to be an exclusive, owner-only enclave.
