The Púca Festival takes place across Trim and Athboy in County Meath from 29 October to 1 November 2026. Celebrating Ireland as the birthplace of Halloween the event brings the ancient Celtic tradition of Samhain to life through folklore, fire, music and comedy. The festival splits its programming between two historic hubs in the Boyne Valley.
Trim hosts the signature Gathering of the Spirits procession with the backdrop of Trim Castle. Over the four nights visitors can expect live music performances at the Big Top, comedy stages and fire choreography illuminating the medieval ruins. Athboy focuses heavily on heritage and sacred rituals featuring guided walking tours of Tlachtga the Hill of Ward where the festival of Samhain originated alongside foraging walks and the over-18s Samhain Circus.
The 2026 musical programme blends contemporary Irish rock, tribute acts and traditional sounds. Headliners performing across the weekend include The Waterboys, Hothouse Flowers, Jerry Fish and Qween and the DGC. While some street events and processions are free to attend major music acts, comedy shows and the Samhain Circus require pre-booked tickets.
