Qatar Airways has announced the resumption of flights to Damascus, marking its first service to Syria in nearly 13 years, following significant political changes in the region. Turkish Airlines is also considering a return to Damascus.
The airline will operate a thrice-weekly service starting January 7, with flights scheduled for Monday, Friday, and Saturday.
This decision represents Qatar Airways’ commitment to enhancing regional connectivity and meeting passenger demand, as few international airlines currently serve Damascus.
Qatar Airways ensures collaboration with relevant authorities to maintain safety and operational standards, emphasizing the cultural significance of the destination and its dedication to facilitating travel.
Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer shared: “We are pleased to resume flights to Damascus, a destination of great historical and cultural importance. This announcement underscores our dedication to fostering connectivity and facilitating travel for our passengers.”
