Royal Caribbean reveals details & Miami base for Hero of the Seas

Royal Caribbean International has revealed details of its fourth Icon-class ship named Hero of the Seas. The vessel will enter service in August 2027 and will sail seven-night cruises from Miami visiting both the Western and Eastern Caribbean. Every itinerary will include a call at the private island destination of Perfect Day at CocoCay in the Bahamas.

The Hero of the Seas will feature eight neighbourhoods including the most pools at sea and 28 dining venues. The ship will introduce new family raft slides in the Category 6 water park and a new pool called Coconut Cove located by The Lime and Coconut bar. Additional highlights include the three-storey Ultimate Family Treehouse and a new Orleans Parish Supper Club.

Crown and Anchor Society loyalty members can book cruises on the Hero of the Seas from 1 April 2026 with general sales opening the following day. The ship will offer itineraries that visit ports such as Roatán in Honduras, Costa Maya and Cozumel in Mexico, Philipsburg in St. Maarten and Charlotte Amalie in St. Thomas.
