Ryanair carried 181.8m passengers in 2023, 19.1pc ahead of pre pandemic and 13.3pc ahead of 2022.

Ryanair is now the largest airline in Europe when measured in passenger traffic by a margin of nearly 60m (ahead of the Lufthansa group, which is in danger of being caught by Air-France/KLM for second place), and the third largest in the world.

In December it became the largest airline in the world by market capitalisation, overtaking Delta and passing ยข30bn for the first time.
