Dublin City Council has launched a transformative plan to revitalise the city’s night-time economy, aiming to create a dynamic and inclusive nightlife that attracts both residents and visitors.
The Night-Time Economy strategy focuses on three core pillars: Cultural Activity, Mobility and Transport, and Safety, with the goal of positioning Dublin as a leading night-time destination in Europe.
Ray O’Donoghue has been appointed as an advisor to oversee the two-year pilot programme funded by the Department of Tourism, which calls for collaboration among stakeholders to craft a sustainable nightlife.
Key measures include coordinating extended late-night events, establishing safe spaces, enhancing public transport, and showcasing temporary public art, all aimed at reimagining Dublin’s nightlife and ensuring it is free from discrimination.
