Over 46,000 passengers will travel through Shannon Airport during the October bank holiday, reflecting a 9pc rise from the same period last year.
The airport launches its winter schedule with three new Ryanair routes and increased frequency on six existing services. The inaugural Lapland flight departs on 27 October 2025, followed by the first Madrid flight on 28 October 2025.
A new year-round service to Madeira will enable winter visits after summer operations.
Shannon Airport provides over 220 weekly flights to 24 destinations, including Aer Lingus services to New York, Boston, and Paris, plus Ryanair options to Lanzarote, Liverpool, Malaga, and Manchester.
Airport Director of Shannon Airport, Niall Kearns shared “We’ve had a fantastic start to 2025 and an exceptionally busy summer, so it’s great to see that momentum continue into the Halloween Bank Holiday. Achieving a 9pc increase in passenger numbers compared to the same period last year is a strong indicator of the confidence travellers have in Shannon Airport as we roll out our winter schedule.”
“Our team is ready to make sure that every passenger has a hassle-free start to their journey. We’re especially excited to welcome those flying to Lapland – hopefully they’ll put in a good word for us with Santa!”
