Singapore Airlines has engaged in discussions with Airbus and Boeing for at least 50 widebody aircraft to support growth beyond the end of the decade. The carrier requested proposals for B777-9s and A350-1000s according to industry sources on 4 June 2026. The talks remain at an early stage and may include options for further units.
Singapore Airlines already holds 30 B777-9s on order and operates both A350 and B777 families. It flies 58 A350-900s and 28 B787-10s among its passenger fleet. The airline also maintains cargo aircraft and additional narrowbody orders.
The carrier continues capacity expansion despite higher fuel prices. Talks may inform future larger variants such as a possible A350-2000 or enhanced B777X models.
Singapore Airlines shared “we will continue expanding capacity despite higher oil prices.”
