Tauck names Lumière and the Serene in two separate ceremonies

Tauck has named its new riverboats the Lumière and the Serene in two separate ceremonies. The ceremony for the Lumière took place in Lyon on 27 March with around 50 guests in attendance. The Serene received christening by godmother Jennie Norman in a private ceremony a couple of days later.

Guests at the Lumière ceremony participated in experiences that included a guided tour of Lyon and time aboard the new ship with celebrations that continued onboard along the Rhône. Co-godmothers Kristen Mack and Brenna Shay christened the Lumière during the ceremony. Guests sailing aboard the Serene embarked on an evening departure from Paris.

The Lumière sails itineraries along the Rhône such as Savoring France Paris Lyon Provence while the Serene operates along the Seine on itineraries that include Family Fun Along the Seine Paris to Normandy and the new for 2026 Bordeaux Paris and the Seine. The addition of the two new vessels forms part of Tauck’s broader river cruise fleet expansion that increases river cruising capacity by more than 30pc compared to 2025.
