The Department of Transport has confirmed that the first payments under the Road Transporters Support Scheme (RTSS) have been processed and are issuing to eligible applicants. Funds have started arriving in applicants’ bank accounts following the assessment and payment process. Applications have been assessed against the Scheme’s published eligibility criteria.
Applicants have been notified of their outcome and provided with information on how to seek a review of any negative decision. Payment processing has been initiated for approved applications, with remittance notices issued from the National Shared Services Office. The Department has tested and refined assessment and payment processes as applications have moved through the system, resolving operational issues to ensure efficient processing.
The Department expects approvals and payments to increase significantly in the coming weeks, with additional applications approved in regular batches from next week. A late application process has been established to allow requests for permission to submit a late application in exceptional circumstances, with requests accepted from 12 noon on 20 July until 12 noon on 25 July 2026. Supporting documentary evidence will be required for late applications.
