The National Travel and Tourism Office has released 12 market profile reports of overseas visitors for calendar year 2025, detailing characteristics of visitors engaged in activities including visiting national parks, business travel, amusement-theme parks, fine dining, and car rental.
Top overseas source markets that visited U.S. National Parks were England (1.7m), France (918,000), Germany (895,000), Brazil (721,000), and India (546,000). Ireland was in 16th place with 490,631 visitors.
Top U.S. cities visited by overseas business travellers were New York City (892,000), Los Angeles (485,000), San Francisco (374,000), Miami (372,000), and Las Vegas (275,000).
Overseas visitors to amusement-theme parks numbered 9.36m in 2025, with the highest incidence from Brazil (61pc), Colombia (53pc), Ecuador and Costa Rica (both 49pc), and Chile (47pc). The top U.S. cities visited by 8.2m overseas visitors who experienced fine dining were New York (2.2m), Miami (1.2m), Los Angeles (1.0m), Orlando (789,000), and San Francisco (722,000). Among 9.4m overseas visitors who rented cars in the United States, the top leisure activities were shopping (87pc), national parks (41pc), small towns (38pc), amusement/theme parks (37pc), and historic locations (31pc).
Overseas arrivals to the US were 34.3m in 2025, a decline from 35.2m in 2024. The Survey of International Air Travelers provides travel, trip and demographic characteristics for visitors by air. The profiles detail characteristics of overseas visitors engaged in activities including air travel, visiting American Indian communities, cultural heritage, hotel-motel stays, packages, shopping, and vacation.
