The Irish Government have initiated a tender process which will see the current Government jet replaced.

According to the tender document the aircraft should

  • have a minimum of two engines, an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU), a passenger seating capacity of at least 10 seats, an unrefueled range of no less than 3,500 nautical miles
  • the capability to be fitted with a Defensive Aid Suite (DAS) and secure digital communications.

Basic services required include crew training for pilots, flight attendants, and maintenance personnel, as well as a maintenance support contract covering the airframe, engines, APU, and avionics.

The aircraft will primarily be used for Ministerial Air Transport Service but will also serve broader utility purposes such as non-combatant evacuation, medical evacuation or repatriation of Irish Defence Forces personnel, logistics support for overseas missions, and air ambulance patient transfers. Tenderers must associate themselves with the competition on the eTenders website to access the tender documents and submit their response.
