The hijacked Afriquah Airlines A320 which landed with 118 people on board is one of three A320s in Afriqiyah’s fleet of six.
The aircraft is wholly owned by Afriquah as no Irish-owned aircraft are currently leased to the airline.
In advance of fighting at Tripoli airport in 2014, Swords based Air Contractors ferried two Afriquah A320-200s, EI-ONJ (cn 4203) and EI-ONL (cn 4489) to Malta.
