Clare County Council has invited locals to contribute views on the future of the Burren and Cliffs Explorer shuttle bus service.
The initiative has returned for the 2026 season and has linked towns and villages with major tourist sites in north and west Clare. Public consultation sessions have taken place in Miltown Malbay and Kilfenora.
The service has operated from 21 May until 20 September and has served locations including Ballyvaughan, Doolin, Lahinch and the Cliffs of Moher Experience. New stops have included Ennistymon and Spanish Point this year. Representatives from the National Parks and Wildlife Service and Fáilte Ireland have attended the sessions.
Last year the seven-bus fleet has provided access to attractions such as the Burren National Park and Poulnabrone. The pilot project has launched in 2025 with support from multiple agencies. Officials have encouraged residents and businesses to register via the online form at cliffsofmoher.ie.
Siobhán McNulty shared “The Burren and Cliffs of Moher Explorer has offered flexible and convenient transportation that has enabled locals and visitors to experience the region’s natural and cultural attractions at their own pace. Tourism and sustainable transport in the wider North Clare area must continue to reflect the views of local communities.”
