Six Middle East ships plane to resume service after being trapped in Gulf

  • Six cruise ships are to resume service after the Strait of Hormuz has reopened for maritime traffic.
  • The MSC Euribia has scheduled its next departure on 16 May 2026 from Kiel for Northern Europe and Scandinavia.
  • The Celestyal Journey has scheduled its next departure on 2 May 2026 from Piraeus for Eastern Mediterranean and Greek Islands.
  • The Mein Schiff 4 has scheduled its next departure on 17 May 2026 from Trieste for Eastern Mediterranean, Adriatic, Croatia and Greece.
  • The Aroya has scheduled its next departure on 14 May 2026 from Jeddah for a spring season in the Red Sea.

Six cruise ships stranded in the Middle East are resuming service after the Strait of Hormuz has reopened for maritime traffic.

The MSC Euribia has repositioned to Europe and has scheduled its next cruise departure on 16 May 2026 from Kiel in Germany for Northern Europe and Scandinavia itineraries. 

The Celestyal Journey has passed the Strait of Hormuz after departure from Doha on 17 April 2026 and has scheduled its next cruise departure on 2 May 2026 from Piraeus in Greece for Eastern Mediterranean and Greek Islands routes.

 The Celestyal Discovery has become the first cruise ship to transit the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the conflicts and has scheduled its next cruise departure on 1 May 2026 from Lavrion in Greece.

The Mein Schiff 4 has transited the Strait of Hormuz and has scheduled its next cruise departure on 17 May 2026 from Trieste in Italy for Eastern Mediterranean, Adriatic, Croatia and Greece itineraries. 

The Mein Schiff 5 has started its repositioning voyage back to Europe on 17 April 2026 after nearly two months docked in Qatar and has scheduled its next cruise departure on 15 May 2026 from Heraklion in Greece. 

The Aroya has remained in the Arabian Gulf and has scheduled its next cruise departure on 14 May 2026 from Jeddah in Saudi Arabia for a spring season in the Red Sea.
