National Museum Collins Barracks reports MASSIVE 41pc increase to 411k in 2016

The four National Museums of Ireland handled a total of 1,315,776 visitors in 2016, up 10pc on 2015.

The biggest increase of 41pc was at Collins Barracks, thanks to the 1916 exhibition. By mid summer it appeared that numbers at Collins Barracks might overtake Kildare Street for the first time in the history of the museum, but this did not happen.

National Museum Kildare Street is Ireland’s 14th most popular attraction and Collins Barracks the 19th most popular.

  • Collins Barracks 411,391 up 41pc
  • Turlough Park (Country Life) 107,855 down 10pc
  • Total 1,315,776 up 10pc
