Leitrim County Council has launched the new Visit Leitrim app that delivers live updates on local services and attractions. The free app provides real-time information to visitors and residents across the county.
Over 230 businesses and cultural sites can upload live details on restaurants, hotels, events and activities. The app includes an interactive map with accessibility information for nature sites, waterways and walking trails. It also supplies contact numbers for GPs, dentists, veterinary clinics, mental health services, Gardai and emergency services. The project received €50,000 in funding from the LEADER Programme 2023 to 2027.
Businesses can send push notifications about cancellations, live music sessions and availability directly to users. Digital solutions firm Great Visitor Experience developed the system. The council promotes the app through QR codes in accommodation and attractions.
