Travel Department is celebrating 30 years of helping solo travellers see the world, with demand for its dedicated solo holidays continuing to grow year after year. The Irish-owned travel company now offers 57 solo departures across Europe and further afield, up 10pc from last year, making it one of its fastest-growing holiday categories. Claire Doherty stated one of the biggest misconceptions about solo travel is that it’s only for single people.

Travel Department takes care of every aspect of the holiday, including return flights, accommodation, transfers, guided excursions and the support of expert local guides. On solo holidays, guests travel with a group of like-minded people, sharing experiences and creating memories. The support of experienced local guides throughout every tour gives guests added confidence, particularly those travelling solo for the first time.

Popular solo holidays for 2026 and 2027 include the Algarve from €1,399, Montenegro from €1,559, Cape Town, Garden Route & Safari from €4,499, Danube Taster River Cruise from €2,849, and India from €2,399. No single supplements are payable on solo holidays.
