Syrianair has resumed scheduled flights between Syria and Russia, specifically between Damascus and Moscow Sheremetyevo, on 16 August 2026, ending a suspension of more than 18 months. The route is operated weekly using A320-200 aircraft, with services between the two cities having been suspended since December 2024. The resumption marks a return to regular connectivity between the two nations following the extended suspension period.

The Syrian state-owned airline now operates direct flights connecting the Syrian capital with Moscow’s Sheremetyevo International Airport on a weekly schedule. The route restoration follows the resolution of operational and logistical considerations that had prevented service during the suspension period. Syrianair continues to maintain its fleet of Airbus A320 aircraft for regional and international operations.

The resumption represents an important development for Syrian civil aviation and bilateral ties between Syria and Russia. Syrianair, based at Damascus International Airport, serves as the national carrier of Syria and operates a network of domestic and international routes across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.

Syrianair confirmed the route is operated weekly using A320-200 aircraft, with services between the two cities having been suspended since December 2024.
