Tullamore is set to deliver an unforgettable September packed with exciting events, vibrant entertainment and unique experiences, offering something for visitors of all ages and interests. The town is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors throughout the month, beginning on Friday, 11 September with a fantastic programme of family-friendly entertainment across Tullamore. The spectacular Cannonball Run will roar into town, bringing colour, energy and excitement to the town centre as the country’s most exciting supercar event arrives.
Visitors can enjoy free live music in O’Connor Square, including a busking competition proudly sponsored by Tullamore Credit Union with categories for both Under 16s and Over 16s. The pre-event celebrations will also feature free face painting, hair braiding and plenty of other activities for all ages. On Saturday, 12 September, families, comic enthusiasts and pop-culture fans can enjoy Comic Con at Tullamore Library, followed once again by free live entertainment in O’Connor Square. The spotlight then turns to the internationally renowned National Ploughing Championships from 15-17 September, with Tullamore serving as an ideal base for attendees.
The month concludes in style on Friday, 18 September with a packed programme of Culture Night events across the town, including Midlands Rock: Battle of the Bands, Hub and Dubh at John Lee’s Bar and Venue, and Culture agus Craic 2 at St. Mary’s Youth Centre. Esker Arts will present Night at the Museum, Vixens of Éire and Ancestral Echoes and Streetwise Steps. Local businesses are preparing for a busy and vibrant month, with hotels, guesthouses, cafés, restaurants, pubs and retailers ready to provide a warm Midlands welcome.
