Popeyes officially opened its new restaurant in Liffey Valley Shopping Centre on Friday, 21 August 2026, drawing massive crowds and overnight queues as the popular American fast-food chain launched its third Irish location inside the mall’s food court. Die-hard fans queued for up to 24 hours to be the first through the doors, with the first three people in line winning free chicken sandwiches for a year. The first 100 customers received a free sandwich and the first 50 received exclusive merchandise, while the new opening has created roughly 55 jobs for the local community.
The restaurant serves Popeyes’ famous Louisiana-style fried chicken menu, featuring the signature Shatter-Crunch Chicken Sandwich marinated for twelve hours and hand-battered. Other options include hot wings, tenders, chicken wraps, classic biscuits with Cajun gravy and hand-spun shakes, with a 100pc plant-based vegan sandwich also available. The venue features 46 indoor seats and five self-service kiosks, with operating hours from 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM Monday to Tuesday, 10:30 AM to 9:30 PM Wednesday to Friday, 10:30 AM to 7:30 PM Saturday and 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM Sunday.
This marks the second Dublin location for the brand following its successful debut at the Blanchardstown Centre last June, alongside a spot at the Applegreen Midway in Laois. Popeyes plans to expand further across Ireland soon, with upcoming locations already announced for Dundrum Town Centre and Applegreen Naas Ball in Kildare. The Liffey Valley location forms part of the brand’s continued expansion in Ireland with further outlets planned across the country.
