HERE are the most prominent hotel openings worldwide in SEPTEMBER

The reimagined Waldorf Astoria New York, a converted Bank of Italy building in Rome and a restored palace in Portugal feature amongst the most prominent hotel openings this month.

Europe

The Standard, Lisbon (Lisbon, Portugal): Scheduled for 2026 in the restored Palácio Santa Clara in Alfama. The property will offer approximately 170 rooms plus long-stay apartments, rooftop bar, pool, spa and lively food-and-beverage spaces with Tagus River views.
Corinthia Rome (Rome, Italy): Opened in early 2026 (February/March) in a restored neoclassical former Bank of Italy building near Piazza del Parlamento. The intimate 60-room hotel includes suites, a spa in the old vault and dining overseen by chef Carlo Cracco.
Rosewood Milan (Milan, Italy): A forthcoming Rosewood property expected in the city’s luxury pipeline around this period, adding to Milan’s high-end hotel scene with the brand’s signature residential-style luxury and refined design (specific September details remain limited in current reports).

Waldorf Astoria London Admiralty Arch (London, England): The conversion of the Grade I-listed Admiralty Arch on The Mall is targeting an autumn 2026 opening.
