The Cashel Palace Hotel has lodged a planning application with Tipperary County Council to establish a 40 space private valet parking facility at the Cashel Town Shopping Centre. The proposal submitted by the Magnier family’s firm Trevester Unlimited Company aims to accommodate an upcoming extension to the five star luxury hotel. The hotel plans to utilise 40 existing spaces within the 320 space Cashel Town Shopping Centre car park on Cahir Road.
Hotel staff or designated operators will manage the vehicles driving them to and from the shopping centre to ensure controlled use. A consultant survey notes that the shopping centre car park remains under utilised leaving over 150 spare spaces even during peak times. The valet service plans to schedule car movements outside of traditional AM and PM rush hours to minimise local traffic disruption. Tipperary County Council is expected to deliver a planning decision by 22 October 2026.
The parking request directly supports a larger revised expansion plan for the Cashel Palace Hotel. Following the lapse of a 2022 proposal that drew heritage objections the hotel modified its approach. The updated valet proposal addresses the extra capacity requirements of a new four storey extension built on a section of the Buckley Car Park which the hotel purchased from the local council. The hotel’s broader development plans include 29 new luxury guest rooms, a new rooftop bar and restaurant and enhanced amenities such as a gym, hair salon, conference spaces and a juice bar.
