Overseas golf journalists compete in Writers Cup in Ireland
Event hosted by Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland
Eight US journalists compete against team from Britain and Mainland Europe
Courses include Adare Manor and Ballyneety Golf Club
Adare Manor hosts Ryder Cup in 2027

Leading overseas golf journalists have been competing in a friendly Ryder Cup style competition called the Writers Cup this week. The journalists who have a combined audience ofms of readers and followers are visiting as guests of Tourism Ireland and Fáilte Ireland. Eight US journalists have been going head to head with a team of eight journalists from Britain, Germany, France, Switzerland and Finland, testing their skills on some of Ireland’s great courses including Adare Manor and Ballyneety Golf Club which will host the Ryder Cup and the Junior Ryder Cup respectively next year.

The itinerary also included Limerick Golf Club, The Hawthorn by Galway Bay and Lahinch Golf Club, the host venue for the recent Walker Cup. The visiting journalists experienced some of Ireland’s top courses for themselves. The content they create and share with theirms of readers, listeners and followers across the US, Britain and Mainland Europe will highlight the fact that Ireland offers the complete package for golfers.
