Prague Castle in Czechia is Europe’s most popular castle and palace complex in 2026 according to an extensive traveller review analysis released by TUI Musement. The ranking tracked shifts in traveller interest by analysing accumulated Google review volumes, crowning the top cultural monuments across the continent. Prague Castle holds the number one spot with over 199,000 reviews and is celebrated as one of the largest ancient palace complexes globally.
London’s Buckingham Palace secured second place, with the English monarch’s official London home continuing to pull thousands daily for its iconic Changing of the Guard. Schönbrunn Palace in Austria was the biggest mover on the podium, climbing to third place. In 2026, it celebrates its 30th anniversary as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, seeing a 41pc surge in review activity. The Palace of Versailles in France dropped slightly to fourth while Wawel Castle in Poland stood firm at fifth place.
The Alhambra in Granada sits at number six, leading a strong Spanish contingent. The Royal Palace of Madrid ranks seventh while the Tower of London secures the eighth spot. Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany lands at number nine and Bran Castle in Romania rounds out the top 10. Spain boasts the highest overall national representation in the wider dataset, securing six of the top 30 spots across Europe. Hungary’s Buda Castle is the single newest entry to break into the Top 30, propelled by a 65pc jump in review volume.
