Czech operator Leo Express has temporarily suspended its long-distance train service from Frankfurt am Main via Prague and Krakow to Przemysl in eastern Poland. The decision, effective from 5 October, follows extensive infrastructure works and track closures on the German network that caused major delays. Bookings have been closed and refunds are being offered to affected passengers. The service had only launched in June.
Ongoing construction work and frequent track closures on the German railway corridor caused the suspension. Daily timetable changes and constant diversions made long-term operations unsustainable. The full international service ran for just over three months before the halt, and it will not return for the rest of the year. Passengers holding tickets for departures after 5 October are being contacted by customer service for refunds or compensation. Leo Express stated it is currently in discussions with Deutsche Bahn regarding future timetable slots, but a return date remains unclear.
