Yotel is developing a more upscale version of its compact tech-focused rooms and plans city centre properties modelled on its airport YotelAir brand. The company aims to expand from about 24 hotels to 100 by 2031. The moves come under its partnership with Hilton.

Chief executive Phil Andreopoulos noted there is demand for an upgraded product with slightly larger rooms and better locations while keeping a lean operating model. Asia remains a growth priority. The group operates 23 properties across 16 cities and airports with 11 additional hotels slated to open over the next 24 months.

New locations are planned for cities including Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Lisbon, Athens and Belfast. Expansion is backed by an agreement with Hilton under the Select by Hilton programme connecting properties to the Hilton Honors loyalty network while keeping Yotel independent.

Phil Andreopoulos shared “there is demand for an upgraded product with slightly larger rooms and better locations while keeping a lean operating model.”
