Ryanair has welcomed the decision of the Cork District Court to convict a passenger who disrupted flight FR9307 from Barcelona to Cork on 1 March 2025 by smoking on board consuming his own duty-free alcohol and failing to comply with crew instructions. The disruptive passenger was found guilty and received a fine of €350.

Ryanair noted it is committed to ensuring that all passengers and crew travel in a comfortable and stress-free environment free of unnecessary disruption. The airline has a strict zero tolerance policy towards passenger misconduct and will continue to take action to combat unruly passenger behaviour on aircraft.

The conviction demonstrates consequences including travel bans and offload fines that passengers who disrupt flights will face as part of Ryanair’s zero tolerance policy. The airline noted it hopes the conviction will further deter disruptive behaviour on flights.

This demonstrates just one of the many consequences (including travel bans and offload fines) that passengers who disrupt flights will face as part of Ryanair’s zero tolerance policy.”
