Seville has secured its first-ever nonstop transatlantic route connecting the Andalusian capital directly to North America starting in September 2027. The historic service will be operated by Air Canada linking Seville Airport directly to Montréal-Trudeau International Airport. The service is scheduled to take off on 8 September 2027.
The route will initially operate three times a week increasing to four weekly flights starting 1 October 2027. Air Canada will deploy its Airbus A321XLR on this route configured with 14 Signature Class lie-flat seats and 168 Economy Class seats. The route is planned as a seasonal operation running from September to January followed by a second block from February to June.
Seville currently requires passengers crossing the Atlantic to transit through major hubs like Madrid or Lisbon. Seville becomes Air Canada’s fifth destination in Spain joining Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca and Tenerife. Seville Mayor José Luis Sanz noted the route as an economic game-changer that will boost international tourism and foster business exchanges.
