Iberia has capped one-way fares between Madrid and Andalusia at €99 in economy class and €149 in business class through Sunday 8 November 2026. The cap was introduced to assist travellers and prevent price surges following high-speed rail service disruptions caused by the train accident in Urda, Toledo. Iberia increased flight capacity adding extra frequencies and upgrading to larger Airbus A321 aircraft on routes to Málaga and Seville.

Air Europa has added extra daily flights on the same corridors to help passengers affected by the rail disruption

Iberia increased available capacity on Andalusian routes by 42pc on 29 October adding 1,080 extra seats through larger aircraft and additional flights. The measures included 720 extra seats on Madrid to Málaga and 360 seats on Madrid to Seville combining six new frequencies with upgrades to Airbus A321 aircraft. Total emergency capacity was expected to reach 3,280 extra seats across the week.

Passengers with journeys disrupted by the train accident can arrange ticket changes by contacting Iberia. Air Europa has similarly reinforced its scheduled daily flights to Málaga and Seville to support the regional transit deficit. The measures respond to the suspension of high-speed AVE and Alvia train lines connecting Madrid and Andalusia.
