Frontier Group Holdings has reported an adjusted third-quarter profit of $40m (€34m) for Q3 2026 beating Wall Street expectations. Despite posting a GAAP net loss of $104m (€90m) impacted by lease termination and fleet-rightsizing charges the carrier delivered an adjusted profit of $40m. Total operating revenue climbed 53pc to a record $1.36bn (€1.17bn).
Average fare revenue per passenger jumped 71pc year-over-year to $67.82 (€58.45) from $39.74. Including bags, seats and add-on fees total revenue per passenger rose 30pc to $138.22 (€119.16). The fare hikes were driven by a sharp escalation in operating costs with Frontier’s fuel bill soaring 82pc to $425m (€366m).
Passenger volume increased 18pc year-over-year to over 9.8m flyers aided in part by capacity adjustments across the budget airline sector following Spirit Airlines’ exit. The carrier noted it had struck a balance between higher ticket prices and passenger volumes amid elevated fuel costs.
