Inmates who complete the Irish Prison Service’s ‘Open Door’ hospitality training initiative are each offered a full-time job upon completing their sentence.
The Cork Prison initiative has been highly successful in assisting prisoners to secure employment and reduce recidivism rates.
Due to its success, the programme is being considered for implementation in other prisons across Ireland.
