Hurtigruten Expeditions, known as HX, is cancelling two cruises to Alaska aboard the Roald Amundsen due to a delay in the ship’s planned drydock maintenance in Panama, which requires unforeseen technical repairs.

The cancelled cruises were set for departure on May 12 and 28, 2024, with 12-night itineraries from Seward to Vancouver, including stops in destinations like Alert Bay, Misty Fjord, Wrangell, and more in Alaska and British Columbia.

HX is offering affected guests a few options, such as rescheduling their reservations to new dates, due to the Roald Amundsen’s inability to arrive in time for the planned expeditions.

The Roald Amundsen is expected to resume service on June 10, 2024, departing from Vancouver for a 12-night cruise to Alaska and British Columbia, followed by a 26-day Northwest Passage expedition from Nome, Alaska to Halifax, Canada in late August.
