Recent concerns have been raised about a government resolution transferring over 1,600 airline workers to other state-owned companies amid a financial crisis.

Libyan Airlines lost 19 of its 24 aircraft during the battle of Tripoli International airport in July-August 2014, 80pc of its fleet.

The airline has hired 300 to 400 new staff while several employees who reached retirement age remain under contract.

Mohamed Abu Snena warned that Libyan Airlines faces a deepening crisis and called for urgent government intervention to save the airline, describing it as “too big to fail.” The airline is too big to fail and must undergo serious restructuring to promote fair competition in the Libyan aviation market.

Abdelati Al-Arafi shared: “Libyan Airlines faces a deepening financial crisis that could lead to bankruptcy.
