A launch date of August 18 has been fixed for the Amtrak Mardi Gras Service, the first significant Amtrak investment in nearly 20 years, will reconnecting Mobile with New Orleans for the first time in two decades.
The service will feature two daily round trips with prices starting at $15 one-way, offering discounts for specific groups.
The project has support from federal and state partners and will include amenities such as free Wi-Fi and the ability to accommodate golf bags and pets.
