From a restored estate in Menorca to a beachfront retreat in Indonesia, here’s a look at some of the most anticipated openings for August 2025.
In Spain’s Balearic Islands, Menorca welcomes two new additions from the Vestige Collection: Son Ermità and Binidufá. Set on an 800-hectare estate, these 18th-century fincas have been carefully restored to house 21 rooms and suites. Guests can enjoy nearly 5km of private coastline with secluded coves, alongside dining that celebrates Menorcan cuisine. Son Ermità’s Brisa restaurant offers French-inspired dishes, while Binidufá’s Mesura focuses on plant-forward, Middle Eastern-influenced fare. Both properties, opening on 22 August, aim to connect guests with the island’s natural beauty and heritage.
London’s Fitzrovia sees the debut of The Newman, an 81-room hotel from Kinsfolk & Co. Located at the crossroads of Goodge Street and Newman Street, this property embraces the area’s bohemian history with art deco-inspired interiors. It features a modern European brasserie, a cocktail bar, and a rooftop suite with a private terrace and wellness area. Set to open in the summer, with August as the likely target, The Newman offers a stylish base for exploring the capital’s West End.
In Italy, VISTA Ostuni opens on 14 August in Puglia’s White City. Housed in a restored palace that once served as a convent and tobacco factory, this 5-star hotel features 28 rooms and suites arranged around a light-filled cloister. Guests can expect views of the sea or olive groves, a spa extending into ancient gardens, and two outdoor pools. The design draws on Puglia’s traditional architecture, creating a relaxed yet refined atmosphere.
Indonesia’s West Timor welcomes Nihi Rote, an offshoot of the acclaimed Nihi Sumba. Opening in October but with bookings starting in August, this resort focuses on world-class surfing and privacy. Entrepreneur Chris Burch and hotelier James McBride have crafted a haven with a strong emphasis on seclusion and adventure, set against the backdrop of Rote’s pristine beaches.
- Courtyard by Marriott Kyoto Shijo Karasuma: This hotel features 125 rooms and is the ninth Courtyard by Marriott location in Japan, positioned in Kyoto’s bustling Shijo district. It offers a restaurant run by a historic local bakery, a 24-hour fitness centre, and easy access to nearby subway stations, with public transport connecting to Kansai International Airport in approximately 90 minutes.

- Manchester Deansgate Hotel: Previously a Hilton property, this 279-room hotel is undergoing a transformation to become an InterContinental by 2027. Currently operational, it features 18 meeting rooms and wellness facilities, including a sauna and indoor pool, all within the 47-storey Beetham Tower near the Manchester Central Convention Complex.
