Tauck plans to add two new riverboats to its fleet in 2027, increasing capacity by 50pc in France and nearly doubling it on the Douro River compared to 2025.
This expansion includes a total of four vessels over two years, representing the highest volume increase in the company’s history, with an overall capacity growth of 30% since 2025. CEO Jennifer Tombaugh noted the enthusiasm for river cruising has been extraordinary and that the new riverboats will accommodate more guests in high-demand regions.
The new riverboats will offer luxurious features such as resort-style sun decks, panoramic lounges, and spacious cabins, with over 75% of cabins being 225 square feet or larger. Guests can now reserve their space for the 2027 itineraries and will have the option to cancel for a full refund when final pricing and itinerary details are confirmed later in the autumn.
Jennifer Tombaugh shared, “The enthusiasm for our river cruising experiences has been extraordinary. These new riverboats will enable us to host more guests in these beloved regions.”
