Cruise Lines International Association Britain and Ireland has announced that their conference will take place from Wednesday to Friday May 24-26 2017 in Southampton.

Registration for the 2017 CLIA Conference will open on September 29 2016 with the theme for the Conference to be announced nearer to the event. See cruiseexperts.org.

The Conference, which claims to be the largest travel agent convention in England. will showcase Cunard’s newly remastered Queen Mary 2 (improved buffet and only kennels at sea) together with Royal Caribbean International’s Navigator of the Seas. The fourth ship in Royal Caribbean’s Voyager Class  underwent a refurbishment in January 2014, adding virtual balconies on 81 inside cabins.

Andy Harmer, CLIA Europe vice-president operations, said: “The Conference will build on the amazing success of this year’s event when three of the most influential men in the cruise industry took centre stage – Carnival Corporation chief executive officer Arnold Donald, Royal Caribbean Cruises president and chief operating officer Adam Goldstein and Larry Pimentel president and chief executive officer of Azamara Club Cruises. The event attracted a record number of travel agents, cruise lines and sponsors and achieved our highest ever satisfaction level of 100pc. The 2017 CLIA Conference will also feature leading figures from the UK and global cruise industry while providing ships visits, a trade fair, networking opportunities and a gala dinner.”
